Anson Northrup

Named for the Minnesota pioneer who operated one of the first boats above St. Anthony Falls. TheAnson Northrup was designed to fit under the low bridges in Minneapolis and put in service in 1988. The side-wheeler's overall height had to be kept under 22 feet because of the low bridges in that area of the river. It is 92 feet long and 33 feet wide. The Anson can be coupled with the party-barge Betsey Northrup, doubling the capacity.

Main and second decks are enclosed, heated and air-conditioned, with outdoor areas towards the bow on both levels.
